As we near the completion of our Library's much-needed makeover, I realize I need to revisit and redefine the Mission, Goals, and Core Values of our Library Media Center.
The new Library Media Center will be twice the size as the old Room 401.
But the physical library will extend beyond the four walls to become a 24/7 learning environment.
I will return in a couple weeks as I read and gather ideas on how our new library will evolve into a 21st Century Learning Environment.

Library Renovation
Last week I took this photo of the new room. You can see the "old room" through the plastic sheeting.

Today the old library walls are being prepared for a fresh coat of new paint. First, the walls are primed with white paint. Next, a coat of bright green paint will be added to match the paint in the new room.

Library Expansion
The Transformation has begun!
With the help of Council Member G. Oliver Koppell, we received a very generous grant from the Bronx Borough President's office in 2008. Our small library media center will double in size, allowing our students and staff more access to library services.
Please visit this blog again, as more photos will be uploaded to document this exciting expansion!

Summer Give-Away!
With only 2 more weeks left in the school year, students and teachers are encouraged to return all borrowed library materials.Last week I went book shopping at the Danbury Scholastic Warehouse. I have many popular titles to give away FREE to any students or teacher who returns late books, or pay for lost books.
